Your Shadow Knows Best

Description

One of these days I'll take the time to read the second half of that tutorial and learn to shade my pictures. xD Until then: Wolfe!

WOLFE:
Wolfe is indeed a wolf, specifically the one from the Little Red Riding Hood story, among various others. His reason for appearing human and his ability to sustain this form has not been divulged to me. He is a gruff man who appears to be in his late 20’s – early 30’s. He’s 5’10”, has brown scraggly hair, and is never clean-shaven. He occasionally smokes but often drinks. Because of his fairy tale nature (probably) it is extremely hard to get him drunk. He knows many obscenities and can cuss with the best of them.

Wolfe is a talented fighter but never uses weapons. He always fights hand-to-hand (or foot-to-head, as it were, for the easier fights that don’t require much skill) and is surprisingly swift in his execution. Though strong, Wolfe’s technique is not one of strength, but of speed and precision, crippling or detaining his enemy before they have time to strike.

Wolfe is not a man to cross. His temper is easy to ignite, though it can be shut off just as easily, depending on the situation (usually the destruction of the person/thing that pissed him off in the first place). However, Wolfe is at his most dangerous when he becomes still, rigid with suppressed power, and his eyes harden. It takes much, much more than a simple taunt to get this reaction from Wolfe, but very few have survived its gaze.

In contrast to all of this, Wolfe plays the violin. His violin is his prize possession (he also has a pretty swank coat that he’s fairly proud of, but he doesn’t love it quite as much as the violin). He is extremely talented at playing and can sing as well, though most consider his singing voice to be eerie and haunting, capable of raising goose bumps.

Though quick to anger, Wolfe has great patience for children and old people. He says that wolves show great respect to the eldest in the pack, for they have been around longer and know the land and the ways of the world. As for children: eh, pups will be pups. Any mistakes they happen to make will help them learn firsthand the way not to do it next time. He pretty much just ignores them until he needs something, but he never harms them (unless they need harming, of course, and even then it’s usually nothing more severe than a bop on the head).

Wolfe believes in doing the right thing, but since he has a wolf’s reasoning his virtues are slightly skewed from a human’s way of thinking. He kills people a bit more than necessary but since the people are (usually) bad or worthless, it’s not that big of a deal.

Wolfe cares for few people and none as much or as faithfully as Red. He would do anything that she asked of him. There are no romantic feelings between the two at all (after all, Wolfe’s a wolf; what would he see in a human woman?). It’s strictly friendship, but you’d be hard-pressed to find a stronger friendship anywhere.

He is able to easily change back to his actual wolf form (which is considerably larger than a non-fairy tale wolf) whenever he chooses but usually retains his human form.

I'll do one of Red later, and eventually I'll do one of the two together. ^^

His coat in this picture is a duster. Why a duster, you ask? Let's make a list of people who wear dusters: cowboys and Harry Dresden, both of which are more awesome than you can imagine. So, Wolfe gets one too.
